Rebels Announce Rebels LC East

The Rebels Lacrosse Club is excited to announce our expansion into the eastern end of Long Island with Rebels LC East. The move allows the program to better serve our east end clientele, as well as allow more youth athletes to be part of the Rebels top curriculum and program.

The move is possible through the addition of program directors John Amato and Tom Walsh, as well as the absorption of Amato's Epic Jokers Lacrosse Club. Mike Brennan, Owner of Rebels Lacrosse Club was very open as to why he felt that this would be a great thing for the brand. “As we (Rebels LC) continue to build our brand, and expand to new markets, the east end of Long Island was a perfect fit for us. We already have an existing client base in that area, and can now better serve our existing players and families as well as open the door to many more to join the Rebels family”, he went on to add.

Amato, who was the owner of Epic Jokers Lacrosse Club and is currently the varsity Head Coach at Mattituck/Southold, will transition into his new role as Program Director of Rebels East. “I made the decision to join with Rebels LC because I felt that it was the best partnership for us to really grow the game on the East End and take it to an elite level. Personally, establishing the EPIC Jokers has been an incredible experience for me. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with some awesome coaches, parents, and players. Creating the club program helped pave the way to the partnership with Rebels who is going to take it to the next level”, Coach Amato expressed. John and Mike played together at Dowling and won a National Championship in 2012.

Rebels LC East Program Director John Amato

Rebels 2028 Hydra Coach & Rocky Point Head Coach Tom Walsh has been hired to come on as another one of the Program Directors of Rebels East. Tom is extremely excited, as are we, to have him on board. “Since joining the Rebels at the start of the organization, I have since always believed they had an interest in the development of players and teams and gave players the opportunities needed to grow in the sport of lacrosse. I am excited about continuing to coach and grow the Rebels brand in my new role”, Tom said.

Coach Walsh is one of the brightest minds in the game right now and is always focusing on new ways to develop the fundamentals, “IQ”, and lacrosse principles of every athlete he encounters. He feels that if you can master those three things, you can be whatever player you work hard enough to be. It is absolutely amazing to have someone who has a major passion for the game of lacrosse and is rewarded by sharing that passion with the lacrosse community.

Mike mentioned, “We did not expect to see this much growth in only year 4 of Rebels LC, but we are passionate and stand behind the services we provide.” With this expansion, along with a multitude of other things that are developing under the Rebels brand, it has taken the organization to new heights and given them the ability to develop a model that they will take with them to other places.
